The spring harvest festival of Passover begins on Saturday, April 12th. It is one of the most celebrated holidays on the Jewish calendar. Passover commemorated the biblical Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The eight day holiday is celebrated by abstaining from chametz (leavened food).
