My grandma Mollie made the best pound cake. She baked from memory, not a recipe. When she passed her pound cake recipe was lost and I have spent years trying to reprise it. Earlier this summer, during the days of COVID quarantine, I had lots of time to experiment and voila! I figured it out. Now you can enjoy one of my favorite treats.
This cake has the velvety texture I remember from my childhood with just the right balance of buttery flavor. Truly a treat worth savoring.
